Police in Ntchisi have rescued a 40-year-old man from angry villagers who sought to kill him, believing he had poisoned three family members who are currently hospitalized at the district’s main hospital.
According to Ntchisi Police Public Relations Officer Salomy Zgambo, the incident occurred yesterday in Nthesa Village.
Zgambo stated that the man has been in a longstanding land dispute with his mother, evident from recent purchases of sugar and salt that allegedly caused health issues among those who consumed the food.
In light of the ongoing tensions, the man was apprehended as a precautionary measure by the police.
