The Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court in Lilongwe has sent Paul Chipapi, 37, to Maula Prison for 10 days for causing death by reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
According to Magistrate Shukrun Kumbani said on May 12, Chipapi collided with a motorcycle at Likuni near LUANAR NRC Campus, resulting in the death of Pempherani Julius and Peter Kaunda.
Magistrate Shukran Kumbani remanded Chipapi to allow the State finalise investigations and he will return to court on May 25 for trial.
Chipapi is from Binoni Village, Balaka, while the deceased was from Chiluzi Village, Dedza, and motorcycle rider Peter Kaunda was from Mulima Village, Zomba.
