Police in Phalombe have arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly stealing K27 million after forging a signature for an authorizing officer for Agriculture Commercialization (AGCOM).
Phalombe Police’s Spokesperson Jimmy Kapanja, has confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect as as Rodgers Khonde, who is vice secretary for Mpinda Cooperative.
Meanwhile, Khonde is on remand at Mulanje prison and a total of K3 million and other items is said to have been recovered.
The suspect will soon appear before court of law to answers charges .
Rodgers Khonde hails from Chinani Village Traditional Authority Chiwalo in the district.
