Man Nabbed For Attempting To Sell His Step Son In Zomba

Police in Zomba has arrested a 25-year-old for offering for sale his 2 year old step son at Njala village within the district.
Spokesperson for Zomba Police Aaron Chilala has identfied the suspect as Chimwemwe Zololo who commited the offense on January 27th, 2024.
On stated date, Zololo called on a certain business person proposing that he’s selling a 2 year old boy who happens to be his step son.
“Upon receiving the request, the business person tipped the Police about the ordeal and was advised to meet the suspect in order to make an arrest,” Said Chilala.
They agreed to meet around 16:00 hours of the fateful day and Zololo was arrested as he was negotiating to strike a deal.
Police then summoned the wife to the suspect for an interview who admitted to have been told by her husband about the deal of selling the boy in order to solve some economic challenges they are facing but she discouraged him from doing such abominable thing.
Zololo is currently in police custody and he will soon appear before court of law to answer charges leveled against him.
Chimwemwe Zololo hails from Chimbalanga village, Traditional Authority Chiwalo in Phalombe district.
