Man kills son for doubting that he is the biological father of the child

Police are hunting for a 25-year-old man, Kapalamula Jostino for allegedly killing his 5-day-old son, Chester, over doubts that he was indeed his biological child.

The incident happened at Mphale Village, Traditional Authority Masula in Lilongwe.

Lilongwe Police spokesperson in the district, Hastings Chigalu has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Chigalu, Jostino’s doubts emanated from the shortness of the pregnancy period.

Last Tuesday night, the suspect, while holding a knife, told his wife to breast-feed the baby for the very last time and say her last prayers.

“The wife sneaked out of the house to alert neighbours but found the child dead on return. The suspect hit him hard to the ground before running away. Post-mortem results at Malingunde Health Centre showed the death was due to internal bleeding,” explains Chigalu.
