Man found dead at Lodge in Ntcheu

A man believed to be in his late 20s has been found dead at Lodge situated at Mphate Trading Centre in Ntcheu District.

Ntcheu Police Spokesperson Rabecca Ndiwate has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

According to Ndiwate, the deceased was found dead on December 29, 2022.

“Ntcheu Police Station is informing the public that unknown man, believed to be in his late twenties, was found dead in one of the rooms within Mphate Trading Centre, where he booked for a night rest.

“The man, who was dark in complexion, medium in height, slim body, was wearing a body black top written GO BUILD, and a black jean trousers,” said Ndiwate.

According to the Receptionist, the man, now deceased booked a room at the said lodge on the evening of December 28, 2022 and registered his name as Kondwani from Area 49, Lilongwe.

“During morning hours, he did not check out as expected, prompting the reporter and staff to report at Ntcheu Police Station, who went and force opened the door, only to find the occupant lying motionless.

“Medical personnel from Ntcheu District Hospital established death as due to Hypovolemic shock, secondary to diarrhea,” added Ndiwate.

Meanwhile, the dead body is lying at Ntcheu District Hospital Moque, pending identification.
