A 70 year old man has been burnt to death in Mzuzu after a housing he was sleeping in caught fire on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Wiseman Chavula from Group Village Head Ephraim Chione near Mzuzu City.

Police in Mzuzu have confirmed of the development in an interview with the press and the body has been taken to Mzuzu Central Hospital for postmortem.

According to reports, the police also found two panga knifes were on Chavula’s corpse.

Meanwhile, Malawians suspect foul play.
