A man has been killed at Zalewa in Neno after he picked a fight with a friend at a drinking joint.

According to information posted on Zodiak Online, on Tuesday the suspect Macdonald Makawa stabbed the yet to be identified victim with a sharp knife several times, before escaping the scene.

But an angry mob descended on him, assaulting him severely before the police came to his rescue before being referred to Queen Elizabeth Central hospital in Blantyre for specialized treatment.

Neno police Officer-in- Charge Hanleck Chingolo has asked for more time to identify the deceased.
