Kasungu Police have apprehended 43-year-old Famous Jere after a tip-off from concerned individuals who observed him moving 20 bags of clay soil pallets from his warehouse to an undisclosed location on August 16, 2023.

Kasungu Police Spokesperson Joseph Kachikho stated that Jere is alleged to possess counterfeit fertiliser.

The authorities currently hold 11 bags of the suspected counterfeit product for analysis.

Acting on the provided information, the police discovered 11 bags of suspected counterfeit super fertiliser, along with a sewing machine and seven empty Super Fert sacks.

Jere, a resident of Chiwato Village in Traditional Authority Kaluluma, Kasungu District, is set to appear before the court.
