A man in Mulanje District has committed suicide by hanging himself using a rope for reason yet to be known.

Public Relations Officer for Mulanje Police, Sergeant Innocent Moses has  identified the deceased  as Allan Joseph.

“On February 28, 2023, Joseph was found lifeless while hanging to a mango tree at the premises belonging to the Ward councilor for the area Issac Blanzio of Nkhonya Village in Senior Chief Mabuka in the district”, Said Moses.

Following the report, Police visited the scene together with medical practitioner from Mulanje District Hospital to do their work and after conducting Postmortem, Medical practitioner revealed that death was due to suffocation.

Meanwhile Police in the district are therefore appealing to the public to refrain from taking their own lives whenever they face challenges in life. They should instead, share their issues with colleagues for help.

Allan Joseph was 70-year-old man hailed from Ndala Village in Traditional Authority Chikumbu in the district.
