Police in Mponela, Dowa District are keeping in custody a 28-year-old man, Chipiliro Bright for being found in possession of chamba.

The incident occured on December 10, 2022 at around 01:00 hours.

It is said that on the said day and time, police received information that Bright is keeping cannabis sativa at his house. Following this information, the law enforcers went to the suspect’s house of the suspect where upon searching, they found him with four twists and some loose cannabis sativa.

The officers therefore arrested the suspect and seized the illicit drug.

Meanwhile, the suspect is in police custody and he will appear before court soon after analysis of the drug at Chitedze Agriculture Research Station.

Bright hails from Mphimbi Village in the area of Traditional Authority Mponela in Dowa District.
