Man Arrested with 72 Bags of Suspected Fake Fertilizer in Mzimba

Police in Jenda, Mzimba district, have arrested a man, Bleston Meya, suspecting him of possessing 72 bags of counterfeit NPK fertilizer.

Confirming the incident, Jenda Police spokesperson, MacFarlane Mseteka, stated that the suspect allegedly sold the fertilizer, each bag weighing 50 kilograms.

According to Mseteka, investigations revealed that the suspect mixed sand with the fertilizer, and currently, the police have confiscated all bags for further examination at the Lungangwa research station.

As a precaution, the police advise the public to be vigilant when purchasing fertilizer to avoid buying counterfeit products.
