Man arrested for stealing MK4.5 million in Neno

Police in Neno district have arrested 28-year-old McFalen Kazembe for allegedly stealing K4,500,000 from a 25-year-old businesswoman, Esther Chimbiya.

Neno police publicist Austin Kamwendo has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Kamwendo, the victim received the money from South Africa, but it went missing in her house.

Kamwendo further said the suspect, an ex-convict, admitted to having a ring with the victim’s nephew.

“Our investigation shows that there was no housebreaking, but someone had used a duplicate key to open the door of the house, “said Kamwendo.

The police recovered a new motorcycle, a Tecno phone, and K1,103,750 from the suspect.
