Man arrested for robbing Catholic nuns in Mchinji

Police in Mchinji have arrested a 40-year-old-man, Greshan Labani for allegedly robbing Catholic Nuns at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Convent at Kapiri Parish Hospital in Mchinji in May last year.

Mchinji Police Publicist Limbani Mpinganjira said the suspect had been on the run together with another suspect, before his arrest in Lilongwe today.

However, Mpinganjira has told the press that the law enforcers have so far managed to arrest five of the suspects and recovered all the stolen property, including a K2C riffle.

The five were handed a 21-year jail term each for the robbery offence, according to Mpinganjira.

Labani hails from Kanzimbi Village, Traditional Authority (TA) Dambe in Mchinji.
