Man Arrested For Possessing Indian Hemp In Mzimba

Police at Jenda in Mzimba is keeping in custody a 38-year-old man  for allegedly being found in possession of cannabis sativa without a permit.
Public relations Officer for Jenda Police station Sub Inspector, Macfarlen Mseteka, has identified the suspect as Patrick Phiri who was  netted on October 29, 203.
According to Mseteka, the law enforcers, during the night, got information that someone was having two bags weighing 90 kilograms of cannabis sativa within Jenda trading center waiting to take them to an unknown destination.
Following up on this, Police arrested Phiri and seized the two bags of the illicit drug whose weight awaits analysis from Lunyangwa research station in Mzuzu.
The suspect will appear before court in due course on the charge of being found in possession of cannabis sativa without license contrary to section 8 subsection (b) of dangerous drugs Act.
Patrick Phiri hails from Makhuwila village, Traditional Authority Khosolo in Mzimba district.
