Police at Dwangwa in Nkhotakota have arrested a 34-year-old man, Kenneth Willy, on suspicion that he assaulted his father to death.
Nkhunga Police Station Spokesperson, Andrew Kamanga, said the law enforcers received a report that on Saturday at around 16:00hrs there was a disagreement at Mowe village in the area of Senior Chief Kanyenda between Kenneth and the father, John Willy, which led to the tragedy.
He said Kenneth had found the 63-year-old father offering for sale the son’s empty crate of soft drinks at a beer pub which did not please him.
It is alleged that the suspect hit the father with a hoe handle.
Kenneth who comes from Pawira village in the area of Senior Chief Kanyenda, is expected to answer the charge of murder.
