Police in Phalombe are keeping in custody a 30-year-old man for being found in possession of medical drugs without a permit.

Phalombe police Public Relations Officer Jimmy Kapanja said on August 22, 2023, at around 11:00am, at Mauzi Trading centre, officers on routine motor vehicle patrols intercepted the suspect, who was found with assorted medical drugs without permit.

He said the arrest and seizure of assorted medical drugs was subsequently made.

“The suspect is in custody soon will appear in court to answer charges of being found in possession of medical drugs without a permit”, Kapanja said.

The suspect, Alfred Banda, hails from Singano Village, Traditional Authority Kaduya in Phalombe district.
