In a shocking turn of events, 42-year-old Cosmas Stafford was found dead in his mother’s house in Thyolo, Malawi.

The circumstances surrounding his death are being treated as a suspected suicide by local authorities.

According to the Thyolo Police Department, Stafford was involved in an altercation with his nephew moments before his death.

The dispute was reportedly over sweet beer (Thobwa) that the nephew claimed Stafford was stealing.

Deputy Police Spokesperson, Rabecca Kassoti, confirmed that Stafford was found hanging in his mother’s house.

The postmortem results indicate that the cause of death was suffocation.
