Malawians to experience 10 hours power blackout on Sunday

The Electricity Supply Commission of Malawi (ESCOM) has said the country will experience prolonged load shedding due to further reduction in power supply on Sunday 25th September 2022.

ESCOM Public Relations Officer Kitty Chingota has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

According to Chingota, the reduction in power supply is due to emergency maintenance work, which will be conducted by their supplier Electricity Generating Company (EGENCO).

Chingota said the available 115 Megawatts will be supplied to essential loads which include central referral hospitals and water boards in all the regions.
