Information reaching this publication indicates that Malawians from all walks of life have stormed Chipiku Stores in Mzuzu with a hope of purchasing a Kilogram packet of sugar.

The development comes barely days after Illovo Sugar Malawi Limited resumed production of Sugar in its factories (Chikwawa and Dwanga).

The company promised to stabilize the availability of sugar across the country in two weeks to come.

It is said that the last times Chipuku Stores had Sugar in Mzuzu was last month.

Currently on the black market, sugar is being sold by vendors at 4000-5000.
