Pressure is mounting on government to disclose reasons behind plans to purchase luxurious vehicles for some top officials amidst economic shocks rocking the country.

This comes barely few days after it was disclosed that government plans to use the budget cut to purchase state of the art vehicles for some top government officials.

Executive Director for Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives(CIDED) Sylvester Namiwa has that said Malawians deserve enough information on the issue.

According to Namiwa time has come for President Chakwera to address the nation on the raised issue as Malawians are struggling due to among other cyclone Freddy and outbreaks such as Cholera and COVID-19.

Meanwhile Namawi has also retaliated the need for Chakwera to give update on the corruption case surrounding Zunneth Sattar.
