A 58 year old Malawian man in Phalombe district has taken his own due to marital problems.

Phalombe police public relations officer Jimmy Kapanja confirmed of the development and identified the deceased as Goster Macheso.

According to Kapanja, the deceased went for a drinking spree with his spouse Sunday and whilst there, the wife produced K200 to buy some beer, a thing which displeased the husband because he did not know where she got the money from.

Kapanja said after getting home, Macheso hacked his wife several times and became unconscious.

He later committed suicide fearing that he had murdered his wife.
