A 52 year old Malawian man Chataika Zakeyu has killed himself by hanging in Dowa District.

Dowa Police Station Gladson M’bumpha confirmed of the incident while adding that Zakeyu  has been missing since Monday, April 18, 2022.

According to M’bumpha, Chataika was found by his brother who was passing through a maize filed and saw him hanging to a tree.

It is reported that Chataika once attempted to kill himself using a knife but was rescued by people who were close to him.

A postmortem on his body has confirmed that death was caused by suffocation triggered by strangulation.
