Blantyre Adventist Hospital has performed its first ever heart surgery on a 33-year-old woman who hails from Mkusa village, traditional authority Khwethemule in Thyolo district.
The surgery was supported by the united state government and 24 experts from America and Kenya were involved.
According to Dr Nan Wang, who led the surgery which took about three hours, said they are very happy that God guided them in this work and they did not face any other problem.
Dr Nan also thanked their fellow doctors for their dedicated work and the Blantyre Adventist Hospital for ensuring that everything needed in this work was available.
According to the patient’s sister, Ruth Makhwala, the woman started suffering from heart disease in the year 2020 and has visited many hospitals until recently when she found an opportunity through the cooperation of Blantyre Adventist and Heart for Mission International.
These operations will be carried out until November 10, 2023.
