The country on Friday experienced another national wide power cut, Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) has confirmed.
According to the utility body, the national wide power cut happened due to a sudden drop in solar power generation.
“We experienced a system shutdown at 9:30am today Friday, 24th June 2022, resulting in loss of power supply in most parts of the country.
“The system shutdown occurred due to a sudden drop in solar power generation,” reads the statement in part.
Last week the country also experienced a similar challenge but ESCOM attributed it to vandalism which happened in Lilongwe.
