Blantyre City Council (BCC) has said the section being rehabilitated along the Mahatma Gandhi Road and a further stretch from the junction towards Kamba will be closed from tomorrow to February 24 to allow the contractor complete works on the project.

BCC Chief Executive Officer Alfred Chanza has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

According to Chanza, the decision for the closure is to enable the contractor ( Einstein Construction) to complete the remaining works at the junction.

Chanza has since urged motorists to use available alternative routes.
