Machinga TTC students in running battles with police

Information reaching this publication indicates that police are engaged in running battles with students from Machinga Teachers Training College.

The students have blocked the M3 road in a bid to force the school management settle their training allowances causing traffic jam.

In a bid to clear the road, police officers had to fire teargas to disperse the angry students who retaliated by pelting stones at the law enforcers.

One of the students who spoke on a condition of anonymity has told us that management has not been committed on when it will pay the arrears.

Meanwhile, the situation is volatile.
