Machinga TTC students expresses concern over school closure

Initial Primary Teacher Education (IPTE) 17 students from Machinga Teachers Training College (TTC) has expressed worries over the closure of their institute.

According to the students, the closing of the school is affecting the preparations for their examinations scheduled for March.

President of the students, Vanessa Manjomo said 90 percent of the 500 students have received their allowances.

Vanessa said despite the ministry of education being informed about the issue, but the government is yet to reopen the facility.

Spokesperson for the ministry of education, Mphatso Nkuonera said they are addressing the issue that made the institute to be closed.

Last year November, Machinga TTC students blocked the M3 road demanding for their allowances amounting 120 thousand kwacha each.
