The Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) has called on the adoption of the digital space in the agriculture sector if the country is to achieve industrialization from agriculture productivity.
The remarks were made at a public lecture, the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority conducted on fourth industrial Revolution, towards the agriculture perspective at Bunda Campus.
Vice Chancellor of LUANAR Professor Emmanuel Kaunda,has said that despite facing a number of challenges Malawi is on a projectory of growth of growth in embracing technological aspects in the agriculture sector.
Kaunda added the agriculture worldwide is transforming going towards improving efficiency in production.
Commenting on the matter Daud Suleman Director General for Director General for Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) said there is need to ensure that farmers are adapting to technology in an effort to penetrate the international market through online portals.
