Liwonde Fertilizer Company pillar in Machinga collapsed and crashed three workers who have sustained injuries of various degrees.

The company’s plant manager, Mark Chapman confirmed the incident in an interview with the press.

Inside sources said one of the three workers sustained a serious injury and has been taken to the hospital, although Chapman said there were no serious injuries.

Assistant health promotion officer for Machinga District Hospital, Wongani Nyirenda, said no report has been shown at their hospital regarding to the accident that has happened at Liwonde Fertilizer Company.
