A ruling of a case involving Linda Kunje, former Commissioner for the country’s electoral body, Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has been set to August 31st by the Zomba Magistrate Court.
Kunje, alongside her driver Jones Tewesa were convicted last week following their arrest in 2020 for obstructing motorcade of President Lazarus Chakwera along the Zomba road.
Meanwhile Kunje and her former driver have been remanded to Mikuyu Prison and Zomba Central Prison respectively.
Kunje has been describing her arrest as witch hunting simply because she aligns with the former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).
