Lilongwe City Council Nods To Friday Demos

Lilongwe City Council (LCC) has permitted Citizens Against Impunity and Corruption to proceed with their planned demonstrations against LCC Chief Executive Officer Lawford Palani.

The protests will take place on March 4, 2022 according to one of the organizers Joshua Chisa Mbele.

However, Lilongwe City Council has given the demonstrators conditions on how they should carry their exercise.

Among others LCC has asked the demonstrators not to carry any weapon in the course of marching.

LCC has also asked the demonstrators to provide 100 marshals who will put on reflectors to help the police in providing security.

The protests are in reaction to Palani’s decision top cancel permission of Anti-Ashok Nair’s demonstrations which were supposed to happen today.
