Lilongwe city council (LCC) has banned selling of fresh maize in the city as it has increased the act of stealing maize in the gardens.

According to the statement written by LCC, anyone one found selling green maize whether cooked of roasted will be prosecuted.

Meanwhile, The City council has urged village heads and the law enforcers to confiscate properties belonging to anyone selling green maize in the city.
