Likoma Teacher Nabbed For Chewing K2 Million Meant For Exams Fees

Police in Likoma have arrested a Likoma Secondary School teacher Thakatwayo Mbizi for allegedly swindling over K2 million examination fees.

Northren Region police spokesperson Maurice Chapola and Likoma District Education Manager Margaret Chinthiti separately confirmed this on Friday.

According to reports, students gave him the money to send to the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB).

Mbizi, who will answer a theft by servant case, is said to be a trained agent for fees payment by MANEB as well as private mobile money agent at Likoma Island who the school and the community trusted to conduct electronic fees transfers to the board.
