Law experts have sounded against the Attorney Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda on 60-day amnesty on people who defrauded the country.

This did please a law professor, Edge Kanyongolo and money laundering legal tactician, Jai Banda who have sounded against the decision.

According to Kanyongolo, there is no law that grants AG power to authorize amnesty.

Jai Banda has said that the set sixty amnesty days may not be easily complied with by banks and who might have been dealing with Sattar.

Meanwhile, Chaka has assured Malawians that beneficiaries of the amnesty will be people who will show “genuine remorse” and bring forward evidence that can be used in convictions.
