48-year-old Doctor Banda, is under Kasungu police custody for allegedly being found in possession of counterfeit maize seed  weighing 110 kilograms.

Kasungu Police Spokesperson, Joseph Kachikho has said that well-wishers tipped police detectives that the suspect was allegedly packaging and distributing uncertified seeds.

Kachikho said police found 13.5 kilograms packs of DK 777 labelled certified seed, 32 (50ml) empty bottles of red staine and 50 kilograms tint maize ready for packing at his home at Juma village in Kasungu town.

Doctor Banda comes  from Juma Village in Traditional Authority Mwase in Kasungu District.
