United Transformation Movement (UTM) Secretary General Patricia Kaliati has denied resigning from frontline politics barely few hours after being fired from Cabinet by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.
On Wednesday, the social media was awash with rumours that Kaliati will in few days announced her resignation from UTM and frontline politics.
According to the said rumour, Kaliati wants to concentrate on her personal business as is the case with her husband.
But speaking in Times talk, a program hosted by Brian Banda, Kaliati described the rumours as fake.
“Some people are spreading rumours that I have resigned from frontline politics, thus not true am a politician with or without a ministerial post,” said Kaliati.
When asked as to whether she is going to contest as Member of Parliament in her constituency, Kaliati said time will tell.
She also trashed rumours that the Alliance of UTM and the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) is currently on the verge of collapse with her firing from Cabinet.
“All is well with President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and the Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima. My firing is a total different story all together,” said Kaliati.
Meanwhile, Kaliati has hinted that she is not bitter with her firing.
