Death has been announced of a Zambian journalist identified as Benthia Mwansa Mumba.

Mumba who until her death was working as Rooster Fm Newsroom Editor.

“It is with great sadness that we announce to the general public that Benthia Mwansa Mumba is dead. Benthia Mwansa Mumba was a strong Journalist and Producer. What a vibrant youth the nation has lost,” reads part of the statement.

Chitalu Diamond wrote: “Friends and relatives have since taken to social media to express their sadness on Mumba’s death.

“How I wish you said goodbye to me my Number(Benthia Mwansa Mumba), big sis Cynthia told me you were getting better and responding well to treatment, but why have you decided to leave now?”

He added: “Remember our conference calls with Womba and how we would laugh for hours on the phone now how do we carry on as your friends Benthia.

“Our back bench conversation in class and our trips going back to school from Ndola.”

“Our graduation meal and the plans we had in excelling in our career.”

“All these memories are shutting me Benthia.

“I shall forever cherish the love, care and support you gave me as your friend and brother.”
