Scorchers and Silver Strikers Ladies defender Ireen Khumalo has joined Zambia’s top tier women’s team Green Buffalos on a one-year loan deal.

Silver Strikers team has confirmed the development through their official Facebook page, saying the player will now be playing in the FAZ Women’s Super league in Zambia.

Khumalo joined the Central Bankers from Ascent Academy and has been instrumental in the 2023 season registering the highest number of assists this far.

The cum defender was part of the Malawi National Women’s Football squid which won their first ever COSAFA Women’s Championship in South Africa.
