Inmate succumb to Cholera at Chichiri Prison

An inmate from Blantyre Prison popularly known as Chichiri has died of cholera today.

Spokesperson for the facility Duncan Malizani has confirmed the development adding that two more cases have been detected.

At the moment, authorities from Director of Health and Social Services are at the correctional facility administering vaccine for Cholera.

It’s been ten years since the country was hit this worse by the cholera outbreak.

So far, more than 500 people have been killed by the disease this year alone.

Government is working hard in ensuring that the outbreak is contained at all cost.
