Northern Region Immigration spokesperson Francis Chitambuli, has confirmed that his office has deported nine Pakistan nationals and two Bangladesh nationals for illegal entry in Malawi.

Chitambuli said the migrants entered the country using unchartered routes and had passports but without visas.

Chitambuli said the 11 were arrested and the court found the immigrants guilty of illegal entry offence contrary to section 21(1) of the Malawi Immigration Act.
