Identity of man found dead in car revealed: Police speaks out

Lilongwe’s Area 18 (Lingadzi) police suspect that Allan Witika, who worked as Sales Manager for Coca-cola Beverages, was murdered.

Spokesperson for Lingadzi Police Station Salome Zgambo in an interview, said the position of the dead suggests that Witika, 37, was murdered.

Zgambo said preliminary findings show Witika may have been murdered elsewhere and shifted to where his car was found parked.

“We think this happened between 6am and 7am this morning…and the position of the body shows that this is murder. The body was moved from the front seat to behind the seats and had deep cuts in the head. We have since opened a murder docket,” said Zgambo.

According to police Witika hailed from Liwonde Village, Traditional Authority Kanduku in Mwanza District.

The body of Witika has since been taken to Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) for postmortem.
