Identity of a woman found dead in decomposed state in Thyolo revealed

Police in Thyolo district have identified a woman who was found dead yesterday as Mumderanji Chikanyala, aged 25.

Chikanyala was found dead in a decomposed state by some people who was passing by a maize field near Makwasa market in the district.

According to the district police deputy publicity, Rabecca Kashoti, the primary investigations did not find the cause of the death because of the condition of the body.

In addition to that, Kashoti said Chikanyala who was a sex worker was last seen by people on Friday January 13th, last week and her body was identified yesterday eaten by dogs in a maize field.

Police are working on the matter to investigate the cause of the death.

Chikanyala hailed from Mkalozwa village Traditional Authority (T/A) Changata in Thyolo.
