Identities of two police trainees killed in road accident in Blantyre revealed

The Malawi Police Service has revealed identities of two recruit constables from Limbe Police Training School (PTS) that have been killed in a road accident in the wee hours of Friday at Chichiri in Blantyre.

The two are Bridget Chimota from Katambo village in Dowa and Darlington Namache from Gunda village in Mulanje are the casualties of the accident.

National Police Spokesperson Peter Kalaya has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.

According to Kalaya, the driver of the vehicle identified as Mtunda Kabowa of Central Poultry has been arrested.
The driver has been charged for causing death by reckless driving in the accident.

The accident affected 29 police trainees who were rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH).
