Police in Kasungu have arrested a hospital attendant, Ishmael Chisemphere, aged 35, on suspicion of defiling a 10-year-old girl at Nkhamenya Mission Hospital.

Confirming the police report, Miracle Mkozi stated that the incident occurred on January 19th in the area of Mchenga. “On that day, Chisemphere went to drink beer at a local drinking spot in Mchenga. While under the influence, he took the young girl to a house where he had an encounter with her,” explained Mkozi.

Upon receiving the information, the Kasungu Police visited the hospital to examine the girl. The medical findings indicated that the girl had indeed been sexually abused.

Chisemphere, who hails from the Chisemphere village, under the chieftaincy of Chisemphere in Kasungu, is expected to appear in court to answer charges of defilement.
