Honeymoon is over for vendors plying their trade in undesignated places such as streets as Lilongwe City Council has announced that will from 2nd may 2023 start operation of removing all vendors.

This comes in respect of the available by-laws by the council which prohibits any person from engaging in illegal street vending.

Spokesperson for Lilongwe City Council Tamara Chafunya has confirmed the development and said the operation will run from next week.

According to Chafunya the operation will be done to force vendors to go to their respective places from undesignated areas.
