Homeland Security Minister stands on removal of unnecessary roadblocks

Government have assured it citizen that it will maintain its stand on the removal of some roadblocks in the country saying they were not serving its intended purposes.

The sentiment has been made by Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma in Lilongwe during a press briefing after meeting heads of various departments under his ministry.

Zikhale has said that police will continue to use adhoc roadblocks as part of enhancing security in the country.

“You know some of these roadblocks were there only to milk from Malawians. At the moment we are using hotline numbers both at the Department of Immigration as well as the 997 at the Malawi Police Service.” Ng’oma Said.

During the meeting, Zikhale Ng’oma also maintained the government’s stand of relocating all the refugees to Dzaleka Camp.
