A tragic incident unfolded in Nsanje as a 40-year-old man lost his life in a horrifying hippo attack.

The victim, identified as Timothy Shadreck from Gudu village in Traditional Authority Mbenje, Nsanje district, was guarding his crops when the deadly encounter occurred.

Sub Inspector Agnes Zalakoma, the Nsanje police spokesperson, revealed that the attack took place during daylight hours.

Timothy suffered multiple fractures during the encounter and was rushed to Phokera Health Center for medical attention.

Despite efforts to save his life, Timothy tragically succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
