Health Workers in Mchinji Continue Boycott over Failure of Suspended Senior Officials to Hand Over Office Keys and Vehicle

Information reaching this publication indicates that Health workers at Mchinji District Hospital are continuing their boycott of work, demanding the handover of office keys and an official vehicle from four senior officials who have been sent on forced leave.

The officials are alleged to have failed to hand over the keys and vehicle before their departure.

Damiano Makaka, a representative of the concerned health workers, has stated that they are still waiting for a letter from the authorities indicating that the officials have indeed been sent on forced leave.

The workers are demanding that the handover of the keys and vehicle takes place before they resume work.

The District Commissioner for Mchinji, Fred Movete, has been tasked with issuing the letter to the health workers.

The accused officials have not yet commented on the matter.
