Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema has expressed shock over the death of members of the United Church of Zambia (UCZ).

The church members were involved in road accident this morning in Nsumbu District, Northern Province.

Writing on his official facebook page Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema said: “We are saddened to hear the tragic news of twenty members of the Women’s Christian Fellowship of the United Church of Zambia in Northern Province who died in a road accident in the early hours of this morning which happened at Chaushi Hill in Nsama district.

“We send our message of condolences and prayers to the church and the affected families to find comfort in our Lord Jesus Christ.”

He added: “We also wish the injured, a quick recovery.”
